  • We had Croft Trailers on Truman Road in Kansas City add a hitch so that we could pull our equipment trailer. Works very well and we can still open the rear doors to get in and out. The step folds up out of the way when the trailer is attatched.

  • The generator is diesel and runs off the main fuel tank. It powers all of the equipment inside the vehicle as well as exterior receptacles for additional lighting or equipment we use on the outside. The only issue we have had is that it overheats in hot weather.

  • The line plugged in is to keep the vehicle batteries charged when the vehicle is being stored. It has a back up system so that if the main batteries are drained a switch can hit to start the vehicle off of a secondary battery system.

  • I do not remember who did the graphics. The Osage company put them on. We have had some issues with them bubbling but for the most part they work well.

  • The door on the main body is a storage compartment. We store our canopies in this area. We can fit four of them in this area. It is designed for backboards and larger items. All of the doors lock for security.

  • This is an exterior outlet. The red indicates that it is a generator powered outlet. There is also an inverter that can run smaller things on the interior. There are four of these on the outside of the vehicle, two on each side. We run large balloon lights from these as well as other work lights. No issues with power from the generator so far.

  • The back doors open wide, it's an ambulance at heart. We use these for uncooperative arrests and for loading and unloading larger equipment. They also come in handy when backing up to hook onto the trailer. We can open them and see the hitch from the rear view mirror. The doors also have rubber stoppers so that they will not hit the body and it also keeps the doors from swinging freely.

  • This is a view from the rear work area through a small walk through to the front seats. The control panel operates the emergency lights, starts the generator and the master switch for the power in the work area is all located on the panel. The switch I for the aux battery is also located on this panel.

  • Coban video system. There are two cameras on the vehicle. We only use the one in the windshield but it has the capabilities of having two. We thought about putting one on the inside but we ended up moving the second camera to the passenger side outside. We were going to use the passenger side camera for SFST but the generator was too loud to hear any instructions and comments by the officer or arrest.

  • This is the camera in the front windshield that we use to record SFSTs at our checkpoints. Works well on the front away from the generator noise. The camera is operated by remote control with the microphone box so that officers do not have to get in and out of the vehicle to start and stop the video every time.

  • This is a view from the main entrance into the work area on the passenger side of the vehicle. We have a Panasonic Tough Book mounted on the desk. There is a file drawer and a pencil drawer below the computer. The black panel behind the computer turns work station lights on as well as the fan. The seat swivels, slides forward and backwards and reclines. In certain positions the seat can be a little hard to get around. The seat is also bolted to the floor and does not move

  • This is a storage cabinet just inside the main entrance. The empty shelf holds our instrument when it is being stored or in long transit. There is additional storage above in the smaller compartments.

  • This is a view from inside the vehicle looking at the front storage, Coban system and walk through to the front seats. I can get through the walk through but it is not easy. Top right is our speaker for our Police radio. To the right of that is the bracket for the interior camera that we moved to the exterior.

  • This is the storage on the front with the doors open. They used one for many of the electrical components for all of the equipment in the vehicle. That cabinet is not used for storage. The vents below are from the AC and heat controlled from the driver’s seat so that the temperature can be controlled without running the generator.

  • This is the rear work station. The instrument usually stays on the counter with a nonslip pad under it to keep it from sliding. The chair swivels but locks into place at certain points. The grey area on the walls is padding to prevent injuries with combative arrests. The floor is a rubberized material that can be hosed off. The white surface can be used like a dry erase board.
